Therapy for UC Berkeley Students
Therapists in the collective have worked with many Cal students over nearly 10 years in the Berkeley area. All psychologists in the collective bill UC SHIP at in-network rates through a rate agreement, and most UC Berkeley students pay a typical copay of $15 per session.
Experience with Cal students
Some of the therapists in the collective (formerly North Berkeley Counseling) have spent nearly a decade working with Cal students through every part of their experience: the first semester away from home, midterm and finals pressure, research and dissertation stress, applying for jobs and graduate programs, and the questions about identity and direction that come up along the way.
Therapists in the collective work with undergraduates and graduate students on anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout and impostor syndrome, perfectionism, identity, relationships and body image. They understand how competitive and isolating a high-achieving campus can feel, and how hard it can be to slow down long enough to ask for help.
Dr. Kimbell and Dr. Kassouf offer in-person therapy in Berkeley/Kensington, just a short trip from campus. Online sessions mean you can meet from your apartment, between classes, or from home over break, as long as you're in California or another state where your therapist is licensed or authorized to practice (Virginia, Hawaii, New York or Florida).
